Uranus was named after the greek sky deity Ouranos. Uranus was the first planet to be discovered by scientists. Uranus is blue and green in color. The magnetic field of Uranus is tilted. It is the seventh planet from the sun. Uranus was the first planet discovered in modern times. It was discovered in 1781 when William Herschel was searching the sky in his telescope. It was seen before, but people ignored it because they thought it was a star. Uranus has only been visited one time before. It was visited by Voyager 2 on January 24, 1986.
